Born with a speech impairment and limited mobility in his hands, Lakhveer Singh’s life has been anything but ordinary. Despite his physical challenges, Lakhi pursued education with determination and eventually found a new sense of direction through the study of politics, which he says profoundly changed his worldview.
Adding to the layers of his story is the fact that his mother is also specially-abled, living with hearing and speech impairments—making Lakhi’s achievements all the more admirable.
Today, Lakhi Aujla serves with pride at the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), one of Punjab’s most respected religious organizations.
A passionate supporter of Sukhbir Singh Badal and the Shiromani Akali Dal, Lakhi has also authored a book detailing his political ideologies and hopes for society.
